Synopsis:
A strange suitcase pops out of a big black cube,
and from the suitcase appears an eccentric character.
“From a Suitcase” is a solo show of a mime who is as elegant
as he is odd. He is the protagonist of an unusual sequence
of comic sketches that accompany the audience in an absurd
world in which anything can happen.
An upside-down universe where even the most everyday
objects, like a roll of tape or an envelope, change
their function and become games.
Improbable incidents, gags, improvisations and surprises
are some of the ingredients that make this show suitable
for audience of all ages and nationalities.
Note of intent:
How still deep-rooted are stereotypes about mime and clown?
Playing with clichés, this show goes beyond what we would expect from these classic characters.
The spirit is that of a clown who, through body language and the aesthetics of mime, plays with the invisible (fantasy) and the concrete (the audience and the objects).
Traditional gags and illusions act as a springboard for original moments and surprises, mixing physical theatre,
juggling, object manipulation, improvisation and magic.
All the spectators just need to do is to let themselves be transported into a world of imagination.
A world where the purest sense of play is the driving force that makes reviving our childlike joy of simplicity and light-heartedness, so often taken for granted.
